Chromium is blocked on Mint? The people at Chromium haven't made installation easy for Linux -- there's no simple way to grab the latest and download, AFAIK. But on Ubuntu it's part of the distribution. BTW, I did find a solution for preventing those FF auto-updates, if you're interested. It's just a bit of a hassle turning them on and off.
