I have experienced the same, just not with the mono theme. I tried http://j.d.mono.tiddlyspot.com and that does not seem to have that problem.
As I wrote, I have experienced the problem before, in a lot of different wikis with different themes. It usually happens when the wiki /my computer gets slow. Combination of big wiki lots of tabs open in the browser...and too little ram I think. Nevertheless If I do nothing and wait it will get normal by itself without any clicking. It is of course only guesswork from me, but it has happened in wikis that did not have that problem before and not after a restart of the browser.
