If I may make a suggestion ... move the "Merge/Append" decision into a radio button selecton back in the main menu just below the name of the export file. That will allow the final sanity-check dialog to operate with "Cancel" meaning "Cancel", and not "replace". It should be easier to do than having to devise a custom dialog with "Merge/Append/Cancel" as the choices.
