Rob, I have used Tiddlydesktop 0.14 a few times. I am using linux Mint Mate 20. I had to make sure NW was executable. Created an icon on the desktop and run it from there. That was the only way it would work. I remember at one point in time, that some compatibility file was missing in the linux version I used at that time but that is long time ago now. Still that might be the case for you, no way for me to know.
