If you are using the standard editor you can create a button to copy a 
selection to the clipboard and or a tiddler. However unless there is a way 
to make such a copy function available on top of say viewing a PDF that is 
another story and beyond my skills, however it will copy to the clipboard.

Perhaps what you need here is a way to paste from the clipboard into a 
Stream, perhaps even a selected stream?

This would then work for inserting content from anywhere.
