David, How are you creating or selecting tiddlers for edit? If you have a custom button it may not be navigating to the draft tiddler, or creating them in the background. If you can also create a second draft if the first is not saved. There are a number of circumstances where this can occur, most likely from a custom button or side bar tab that has not fully taken the draft mechaisium into account.
