Really? Did that work for you? I thought parameters-as-variables only work 
in a strict transclusion context with double angle brackets. In a simple 
test it yields a syntax error:

  <$list filter="[tag<__parameter__>]]">
  <$link to=<<currentTiddler>>/><br>
  </$list>
\end
