Hi, Well done! But It would make it much easier, if you add a link to the plugin you use. I could find it myself, but I just don't want to spend the time searching.
On the other hand I do find the problem interesting. I think the "shortened text" in tabs would be interesting for others too. May be there is a way with some tricky CSS.
