TW uses "non-standard" routines to save because "standard" javascript doesn't let you save a file LOCALLY. This is considered an important security feature. Using java is a way to get around this limitation.
You might ask the people on the android forums if they know of any way for a javascript code to save a file to the *local* machine. This could be the basis for code that would allow TW to save itself. Its important to stress that you want the file saved locally, because I'm sure there are all sorts of applications that save *REMOTELY*. Indeed, if you can run javascript, then its probably possibly to access and save changes to a tiddlyspot.com location, for instance.
