Thanks, Eric. FF is my web browser, but I run my TWs in Safari. I know you said it would be difficult to diagnose, but I wonder if you've had any insight into why ImportTiddlerPlugin doesn't return a tiddler list when run under OSX. Also whether some version of either of the above workarounds would solve the problem. One last wonder: Does the concept of a browser specifically designed to run TWs make any sense?
