Yep I'm still around! Thanks for the prod.. I was working on an updated version of the plugin but ran into some bugs and never got round to releasing the new version.
I was working on node labels, image handling and improving the spouse handling which you ask about(the new version treats spouses like children in the way you save tags Mum [[Step Mum]] would add two spouses to the person it was added to. It's interesting to see how you are using it without the tree visualisation. I should probably have 2 verticals - one with the visualisation and one without. Anyway, I did a bit of work this morning, and although not fully tested (there are still a few issues with the graph for example), if you pull the plugins and EditTemplate from http://jonrobson.me.uk/static/familytree/robson.html this should hopefully solve your problems.
