I'm afraid I wasn't able to make the Checkbox plugin work, however I used your script together with ForEachTiddlerPlugin and it worked perfectly :)
I too would be interested if anyone figures out how to make the Checkbox plugin work as its a curious dilemma that I've encountered a few times later on as well.
