WhereIsIt was a nice piece of software. However, I rarely used it. Isntead, I had rather quickly given up ...not on WhereIsIt but on the concept of using discs for storage altogether. Once on usb drives, I never looked back.
Therefore, I would say such a usecase is *total* overkill. I would not overload a single html file with this much data ...possibly thousands of files with meta-information ...and multiple discs (from back then). Dunno if something like that exists for win, but I quite like apples new timemachine. It just makes sense. Never have used anything such yet myself, but it sure were great if one could have a service running on an external storeage device which possibly provides indexing, versioning and tagging of files and folders. If anything, such a service might (theoretically) be based on TiddlyWeb, but not on a standalone TiddlyWiki.
