Hi, I wouldn't totally disable it. Belief my, it will cause trouble in the future if you do. But you can make it disapear after eg: 5 seconds.
Have a look at my teamwork [1] space. If you copy the tiddler MessageFadeOut to your tw, and tag it "systemConfig" it will close the message area after 15 seconds. you can change this value. If you don't want the tiddler to be listed in the timeline, tag it "excludeLists".
