Some of the work we've been doing at Osmosoft for BT is coming at the same problem from a slightly different direction: how to manage the creation and editing of long structured documents by a group of people. The approach is to chop the document up into small sections, and string them back together through an ordered hierarchical list stored in the "activeDocument" tiddler. The list is shown as an outline to the left, and headings can be rearranged by drag and drop.
