Okay I finally solved it. I deleted the cookies using nukeallcookies bookmarklet from here http://lewcid.org/tiddlywiki-bookmarklets/ I did it once and reloaded the page but it would not load citing an invalid cookie error or something. I tried deleting the cookies again and reloaded and I got back my normal tiddlyspace with all its backstage features. Thank God for small mercies.
