The sndbxy3 space is indeed sort of a theme, but it is not ready for inclusion. Since I learned as I went along, I need to reconsider various aspects - do it asap. The animated image is an image map, directly in the PageTemplate, and the animations are animated gifs that are hidden and shown as required. Check the tiddlers NeUIemTheme (modified from the original - not sure if I can alter the name to NeUiemThemeMod or so) and ImageMapHoverPlugin (needs docs...). The resizable sidebars are a jQuery UI effect [1], controlled with SidebarLockButtonPlugin; also check FXSidebarHoverPlugin.
