I figured it out, afterwards.

The confusing part was "username is already taken" vs "user doesn't
exist".
I now get that the "username" is taken by the space but without any
related "user".

Quite a dilemma. Demanding you to modify things serverside so I can
enforce clean admin of the spaces VS I really don't want to disturb
you as you already provide a wonderful service.

I meant "administration" in a way similar to what is used in *nix
systems.
Applied to Tiddlyspace it would become:
— one "root" user has full control = access to all these spaces,
barely used, protected by a 128b+ passphrase
— many admin users = one-to-one relationship between admin-users and
space-access, used for day-to-day maintenance of the spaces,
compromised access to one space doesn't propagate to the others

I'll have a look about what can be done beyond the defaults.
