I agree, however, there is one use-case were fckEditor is really
handy, because it allows to quickly add text from word processors or
websites incl. formatting. Just as MediaWikiFormatter allows for
MediaWiki content. But I rarely need it and the ckEditor iframe is
more than enough for that.

Macros could be used with html formatted content too, if
HTMLFormattingPlugin of TiddlyTools is installed. But for that the
edit field has to be changed to it's sourcecode display and added
directly there.
