I'm aware that a Google-hosted server might not be acceptable due to 'company policy', but in terms of a good alternative for in-house hosting, I expect AppScale (http://code.google.com/p/appscale/) would be a better solution for multiuser applications than the turnkeylinux option which as I far as I can tell is just a Linux virtual machine preinstalled with the App Engine SDK. I'd very much like if some Linux/ MySQL savvy person would check it out as a platform for giewiki.
