Although partial true as has been said numerous times over the last
few days/weeks it is not just down to Jeremy, Eric and a small number
of other people to work on the core. It is open source anyone can
contribute.

The main issue in this instance is that TW relied on some none web
standard ways of interacting with files through a browser. In some
circumstances as browser vendor have become more standards compliant
they have been closing off some of things TW relied upon.
Many of these are know and have been discussed in numerous threads on
the groups. I think there is a summary of the known browser issues on
TiddlyWiki.com
http://tiddlywiki.com/#%5B%5BTiddlyWiki%20Browser%20Compatibility%5D%5D

I believe Jeremy has been doing some work in the area which is
discussed here

Hopefully Nike your issues will be overcome and you'll be able to
enjoy using TW again.
