actually, i think i found it.

i opened up the html in a txted, searched chkAutoSave and found an
entry set as "False" and changed it to true. opened it bakc up and
autosave was checked.

but it begs the question: if this 'setting' wasn't sticking, might i
have problems with other settings like this?
