Hello Jeremy. Thanks for your tip.

I did insert the unicode characters as you can see below.

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8" />
<meta name="copyright" content="
äöüßéčâ
TiddlyWiki created by Jeremy Ruston, (jeremy [at] osmosoft [dot] com)

So far the result was different Unicode Characters but still not the correct ones (1/4 instead of ü)... an a new plugin-error. Should i put the characters before the copyright tag?

kind regards Jan

This does indeed sound like a known problem: viewing an HTML file from Dropbox via an http URL doesn't always correctly detect the character set of the document. On a desktop browser you can use the browser menu to override the character encoding to UTF-8, which will make it display correctly. It isn't possible to do that on iPhone, however.

I'm exploring solutions to this issue, but if you want a quick workaround, try opening your TiddlyWiki file in a text editor, and then find the line that reads:

TiddlyWiki created by Jeremy Ruston, (jeremy [at] osmosoft [dot] com)

Insert a new line before that one that contains a bunch of random unicode characters. For example:

íntéátiořç`ń

Then save the file and try opening it again from Dropbox. These extra characters appearing near the top of the file should cause Dropbox to correctly identify the character set. Let me know how you get on,

Best wishes

Jeremy

    Is there a fix?
    Thanks for feedback Jan
