No, FilterTags is not what I wanted, but I got it figured out. I was originally thinking of a search for tiddlers that are tagged by other tiddlers. Now I am realizing that the solution is much simpler than that. Just configure the search box to search by default for tags rather than titles and text, and if needed, check the boxes to search for the title and-or text too.
Basically I am going to use my TW to record each thought, note, quote, separately, and tag appropriately (with Intellitagger) by topic(s), source and notetype if appropriate, and use tag search to see the notes I add to any given topic, source or notetype.
