Ok, I guess I didn't understand the problem right... now I can confirm both!
I have noticed the <<tabs>> macro issue in the sidebar before but could never identify what provoked it. I have known the password problem for sometime now and so far tried to ignore it as I only occasionally use / update my TiddlySpot sites.
