I learned that my attempts to create macros in my TiddlyWiki can result in
slow page response (initial load, saving, or other actions). I made
improvements and got faster response. I was very glad of course, but my
efforts were hit-and-miss because I don't know how to benchmark or profile
the performance of a local TW. How do you do that? Firebug?

I should say that the presentation of response times in TW's own listing of
plugins is HIGHLY useful. I'd love to know how to make my own assessments
-- like those, but (if possible) applied to macro actions that are
triggered apart from initial page load.
