One more attempt:

I'm having the identical problem with

OS X 10.6.8, Safari 5.19 and the "assurance" from Java that it works.

  I've downloaded TW 2.8.1 Beta 1 to the downloads/empty: empty.html,
TiddlySaver.jar and cannot open empty.html in Safari, but does in Firefox.

We fix this, or it's on to Markdown and static pages. btw, i'd prefer
this TW to "tiddlyspace", where i'm in the martymcgowan, softwarereview,
... spaces
