thank you very much for your detailed and helpful explanation. Indeed, 
installing plugins from tiddlytools.com using backstage import button 
worked like a charm. 

On the other hand I ran into other plugin sites where import resulted in 
error ("Error retrieving tiddlers from url, please ensure this url exists 
and is CORS <http://enable-cors.org/> enabled") like in the case of   
http://visualtw.ouvaton.org/VisualTW.html  Being able to simply download 
tiddler as a text file and then import it from a local file or 
copy-and-paste would be a nice work around broken configurations. I used 
your advice for a manual tiddler copy and it seems have worked. Of course, 
I am not very comfortable entrusting a copy-and-paste buffer with the task 
of faithfully moving source code around.
