The latest version of TiddlyFox is currently available only from the GitHub repo, with only a much older version at addons.mozilla.org (AMO). This is bad for users as it makes it too easy to install the wrong version, and makes it too hard to update it.
The reason that the updates to TiddlyFox have been rejected by AMO is that I'm having to use deprecated methods to store user preferences on old versions of Firefox. The problem is that the preferred api for preference doesn't work prior to Firefox 20 from a file: URI. I'm proposing to resolve this by issuing a new version of Firefox that drops support for retaining preferences when run on versions of Firefox prior to version 20. Hopefully the new version will be approved by AMO, and existing users will be automatically updated. The change will therefore affect anyone using TiddlyFox with old versions of Firefox - please let me know if that's you.
