What browser are you using? Browsers have now closed off the techniques
that TiddlyWiki historically used to save changes. The new behaviour of
downloading a fresh copy of the wiki each time you save is the best we've
been able to do while staying within the confines of standard HTML5 - it's
inconvenient but reliable, and should stand the test of time.

The preferred way to regain the classic TiddlyWiki experience of saving
changes back to the original file is to use the TiddlyFox extension with
Firefox (works on the desktop or under Firefox for Android):

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tiddlyfox/

Other alternatives include using a cloud version of TiddlyWiki such as
TiddlySpace or TiddlySpot, or hosting your own mini-TiddlyWiki server with
TiddlyHome.

Best wishes

Jeremy
