Sorry, my fat fingers posted this while I was still typing :- / I took a look at TiddlyWiki because it doesn't require installing an application + DB on a server.
Before I recommend TiddlyWiki, I have a few questions I didn't see answered in the main site (http://tiddlywiki.com/) and the wiki (http://tiddlywiki.org/): 1. How does TiddlyWiki save changes? How can a browser edit a local web page and save changes made to it? 2. "Allows changes to be saved locally?": What's the alternative? A remote server? How does it work? 3. "The TiddlySaver Java applet allows TiddlyWiki to save changes in a local version": Besides requiring Jvava, what's the difference between saving changes by default, and saving changes through the TiddlySaver applet? 4. "blaine, 11 February 2011 (created 11 February 2011) : TiddlyWiki works well in Google Chrome and Chromium using TiddlySaver. However, due to Chrome's lack of Java support on Mac OS and Linux, it currently cannot save on those platforms." Is this still true as os Nov 2013? 5. "Wiki systems are often used to collaboratively manage documentation for large projects": How does TiddlyWiki handle merging changes from multiple users? 6. Is it possible to make a TiddlyWiki ready-only so users don't edit pages by mistake? 7. Is it possible to have a URL pointing directly to a specific tiddler? Thank you.
