I've been using the mGSD <http://mgsd.tiddlyspot.com/#mGSD> variant of TiddlyWiki for years, but it stopped upgrading core TiddlyWiki and then stopped being able to save. I couldn't import newer core into it, getting the dread "TypeError: netscape.security.PrivilegeManager is undefined". I finally took the time to figure out what to do. Here's what worked for me:
- download latest TiddlyWiki classic from http://tiddlywiki.com/ - This downloads an empty.zip.Open it with your archiver tool, copy the empty.html to where you want to save your new TiddlyWiki, e.g. *Documents/mytw.html* - Install TiddlyFox from https://github.com/TiddlyWiki/TiddlyFox/raw/master/tiddlyfox.xpi, restart browser. - File > Open your new TiddlyWiki html file, you'll get a "Do you want to enable TiddlyWiki file saving capability" prompt from TiddlyFox. - Click Backstage > Import, browse for your old and tired mGSD.html file, click [open]. Click the header checkbox to select everything, and click [import] to import *everything* from the old file. I'm sure some of the mGSD stuff no longer applies, but amazingly it works, my Next and Waiting Actions list reappeared. - To verify: - click Backstage > save, it should indicate it saved OK - click Backstage > upgrade > [upgrade], it should say "This TiddlyWiki appears to be already using the latest version of the core code (2.8.1)." mGSD itself has been at version "3.1.9 beta" since 2011 or so, it continues to work for my simple usage. dGSD <http://thinkcreatesolve.biz/dGSD.html>seems to be an actively maintained successor, but it does more than I need (even mGSD does more than I need – context / process /review just for "clean the refrigerator coils" ?! ☺ ).
