Sorry, didn't read properly the question. To display a *count* of all tiddlers, add this:
<$count filter="[!is[system]sort[title]]"/> tiddlers to the system tiddler $:/core/ui/MoreSideBar/All But if you put it on another tiddler, it doesn't seem to work, I don't know why.
