I found a solution. I realized that closeTiddler is in the system-images space as an image/svg+xml type tiddler. I wanted it to be shown with grey fill, as it displays on the tiddler toolbar until it's directly hovered upon. There must be a better way of doing this, by somehow changing the fill to grey while pointing to the same svg tiddler. However, this was my workaround:
Duplicated another tiddler called GreyX which edited fill="grey" within the svg markup. Then, placed inline, scaled 12x12, in my Introductory text as follows: This content can be dismissed by clicking or tapping the <<image GreyX 12 12>> close button at the top right of each story, above the icon of my [[daughter's eye|Sara]]. Clicking or tapping the @@color(grey):►@@ arrow at the top of the screen hides the right Wiki title, search box and sidebar, to widen the viewable area of the stories. This arrow can be tapped again to bring back the sidebar.
