Dear Mal, Yes linking to external images are not available yet, I added the link tags and URLs of files in the database waiting for new TW5 updates. Embedding images in TW5 slowers it down very much (in case you embed hundreds of images in a single file) and the file size will be much larger than storing images separately+database.
