I'm > using Windows 7x64 > OK, that's probably because the Chromium browser embedded in node-webkit doesn't have the same hardware acceleration as the full Chrome browser, and the defocussed effect is pretty performance intensive. I'll look into pulling out the defocus styles into the SnowWhite theme so that you'll be able to switch down to Vanilla and get better performance with the effect.
