One option would be to use the "embed" feature on a service like Youtube. 
 The file is hosted on Youtube, but acts like it is in your tiddler. 
 Downside is that you have to have web access to play it.  I do that with 
some larger PDF files that I don't want to store in my tiddlywiki.

For instance, this is the code I pasted into my tiddler to embed a PDF file 
(got this from Google Books)
