I'm afraid you have to use raw HTML for the link at the moment.

If you want to use an external image:

<a href="/myexternalfile"><img src="/myexternalimage.gif"/></a>

If you want to use an internal image:

<a href="/myexternalfile">{{myImageTiddler}}</a>
