Yes, that's why I eventually decided in favor of "git pull" as opposed to "npm update" to keep my copy up to date - to be prepared. I'm not a programmer but I'm starting to love git. "git log" and "git show" are my new best friends!
One more question: By "changes the base sync filter" you simply mean the shadow filter " $:/config/SyncFilter" might change, right? So I should be ok as long as I keep an eye on it. Or do you mean some more radical changes, like for example this switch from doNotSave to SyncFilter in 5.0.8?
