But when it comes to variables, set with $set, there are 2 ways to get 
their value:

\define mymacro()
$(myvar)$
\end

<$set name="myvar" value="myval">

|direct |<<myvar>> |
|by macro |<<mymacro>> |
</$set>

Where, in the macro, you also can use the <<myvar>> syntax, but not outside 
of the macro.
