Thanks man, you made my day! I misread the documentation and expected import from older versions (classic) not to work yet. I quickly tried importing a small classic TW and it works pretty much as expected. It requires some polishing after import and deletion of unused plugin tiddlers, but it does keep creation and edit dates.
