Thanks, Eric. I was considering that work-around (adding an extra tag for the month and then using MatchTags), though I'm not too crazy about going back and re-tagging all my old entries.
That's a good idea with the newJournal macro, though. It's already been re-fashioned to produce the "YYYY-MM-DD ddd" title with the "log" tag; should be no problem editing it further following your suggestion to add an extra time tag -- "MMM_YY" format, for example.
