www.portableapps.com is a good solution...in situations where it is permitted. In some *secure* computing environments, NO unapproved applications can be *run* on any secure machines, even if the application does not need to be installed. Further, some secure "black box" rooms do not permit ANY removable media to be brought into the room. In fact, some years ago, there was a user who was in a secure black box environment that did not permit him to bring in even a single digital copy of a TiddlyWiki document into the room. He actually resorted to *printing* a copy of the TWClassic source code and then *hand-entering* that output into a text file on the secure system.
