As soon, as you open a tiddler, TW changes its state. If you click the save button, the "draft tiddler" is saved. So it is possible to reload a tiddler in edit mode. This hasn't been possible with TWc. If you want to detect, if your TW content has "really" changed, you'd need a rather complicated mechanism. eg: create 10 tiddlers with content and then delete them. .... basically nothing changed ... no need to save ...
