TiddlyWiki5 will come out of beta on Saturday 20th September - which is 10 years to the day since the original release of TiddlyWiki (see http://classic.tiddlywiki.com/firstversion.html).
The actual release won't be much of an event, just me running a batch file. The plan is to feature freeze a week or so beforehand, with just bug fixes and documentation improvements in the last week. One idea for celebrating the event is to hold an "endurance hangout" for, say, 6 hours on Saturday 20th. A longer session on a weekend hopefully would enable people to drop in who can't attend the regular Tuesday hangouts. A few ideas for events within the hangout: * Performing the release itself * Slots where some of the hangout regulars could show how they personally use TiddlyWiki * A slot to look back at some really early embarrassing versions of TiddlyWiki * Reliving some of the reactions to the original release of TiddlyWiki * Looking to the future: what might TiddlyWiki be like in 2025? Any suggestions or comments welcome! By the way, I'd be delighted to welcome anyone is able to travel to Oxford on the 20th and take part in the hangout "live". Drop me a line if you think you may be able to come along.
