Assume you want a h3 heading with white text color and a vertical red to
blue gradient background.
Creat a tiddler tagged with $:/tags/stylesheet containing:
h3 {
color: white;
background: <<background-linear-gradient "red, blue">>
)
Now every h3 heading uses white text color and a red to blue background
gradient.
