It seems to me though that there is a need for documentation on the syntax of using variables, parameters and macros in different contexts. Am I right? It is very hard to guess when to use $variable$ or $(variable)$ or <<variable>> ... For instance, there is the "[tag<variable>]" syntax for use in filters. Here it should be clear that this is a "late binding" of the variable at the time when the filter is parsed (or better "executed") and not a "in place subsitution" at the time the whole _statement_ is parsed. I have experienced many other uncertainties like this. What would be the best place to add documentation?
