One thing is for sure, your problem got nothing to do with either

   - the button
   - the modal it opens

No clue where or why but you must have some codebits / css / plugin
that sets the z-index on the *.tc-tiddler-frame* way too high
whereas it probably shouldn't change it at all, leave it as 0.

I am seeing a dynamically assigned 500 and that puts it above your modal.

Also, what is this rather awkward way of displaying single tiddlers
and how come I see an empty tiddler when I look at the punch theme?
