Mhhh, what Jeremy is saying there isn't quite correct though. The time when TWc would be closing all tiddlers to open those matching the search term ist long gone. Instead we have that search-results panel of SimpleSearchPlugin and the fact that any matching text is highlighted when a tiddler is opened.
Not sure how that "highlighthack" forces its ways in the rendering process but the fact that it does seems separate from the open-all-results-immediately mechanism.
