Good stuff. I tried working on this a bit a little while ago (see https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/tiddlywiki/action/tiddlywiki/KakzBdIhywY/vYY9TKXmAaYJ) and ran into the same problem with the select widget using the old value rather than the new value. I had the same problem also with the radio widget when I put an action-setfield inside, but yours seems to work as intended. Are you forcing a refresh before invoking the action?
